Samoan Day

Last week was Samoan language week, Room 22 is lucky enough to have lots of children with Samoan heritage and enthusiasm was high for all our students.

Thank you to our generous parent for sharing her knowledge with the children and bringing in some Samoan clothes for the children to try.

We've been writing the story of Sina and the Eel, a traditional Samoan tale, that explains how we came to have coconuts.
Mrs Sorby thought it was a good idea for us all to try coconut, so we had to decide how to break it.
One clever student thought up the idea of breaking it on a rock, so we all had fun breaking it and then tasting it afterwards.
We were not all that enthusiastic about drinking the milk, but were all brave enough to eat the
coconut.
